Barbie World

On June 23, 2023, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice dropped a high-energy track that instantly became the anthem for the summer. The song serves as the third single from the Barbie movie soundtrack and bridges a twenty-six-year gap by sampling Aqua's 1997 hit "Barbie Girl." This collaboration brings the original Danish-Norwegian group back into the spotlight alongside two of hip-hop's biggest rising stars. RiotUSA handled production duties while blending modern trap beats with the synth-heavy Europop sound that defined the late nineties.

Critics noted how the track successfully revitalized the meme culture surrounding the doll franchise without losing its playful edge. The chemistry between Minaj and Ice Spice provided a sharp contrast to the nostalgic vocals from Lene Nystrøm and Søren Rasted. Reviewers frequently cited this moment as one of the most infectious parts of the entire film experience, praising how it captured the essence of self-discovery and empowerment central to the movie's narrative.
