Always Remember Us This Way

On November 24, 2018, Lady Gaga released a piano-driven country ballad that stripped away her signature electronic production. The track appeared in the 2018 remake of A Star Is Born, serving as a pivotal narrative moment where her character Ally reveals her songwriting depth to the world. Written by Gaga alongside Nashville songwriters Natalie Hemby, Hillary Lindsey, and Lori McKenna, the song channels the spirit of 1970s Americana while showcasing her vocal range in a stripped-back arrangement.

Production duties fell to Gaga and Dave Cobb, who aimed to capture an intimate, live feel that matched the on-screen performance. Recording sessions took place at Coachella and EastWest Studios in Los Angeles. Critics praised the authenticity of the track, noting how it bridged the gap between pop stardom and genuine country storytelling without relying on heavy instrumentation. [edit]
