The inspiration is deeply personal. After a visit home to Slovakia, Adéla found old photographs of her mother at age 18, which shaped the track into what Nylon called an "ode to the girls with big dreams and humble beginnings." The album title Prima means "first" in Slovak, nodding to both her debut status and the idea of a "prima ballerina."

Upon release, the song notched the fifth-biggest debut for Spotify worldwide and in the U.S. during its release week. Its streaming success was amplified by a viral TikTok trend called "Can't always be LA," where users shared their hometowns and local pride, tying directly into the song's themes of belonging and identity.
