    About

Sportovní klub Slavia Praha began its life on November 2, 1892, as a literary and cycling club in the heart of Prague before transforming into one of Central Europe's most enduring football institutions. The organization stands as the oldest sports club in the Czech lands and has evolved into a dominant force within the domestic game. While their city rivals Sparta Prague hold a slight edge in total titles, Slavia has consistently competed at the highest level since the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.

The team currently competes in the Fortuna Liga, the top tier of Czech football, playing home matches at the Fortuna Arena with a capacity of roughly 19,370 spectators. Their trophy case includes 23 league titles, 11 Czech Cup victories, and the Mitropa Cup won in 1938. A defining chapter in their recent history occurred during the 2020–21 season when the squad completed an entire campaign without defeat, setting a national record with 54 consecutive matches unbeaten.

    History

The club was established in 1892 not for football but for literature and cycling, eventually branching out to include a football section that would become its primary identity. Over more than a century, they have secured 23 Czech and Czechoslovak league titles, making them the second most successful club in the nation's history. Their rivalry with AC Sparta Prague defines the Prague Derby, widely considered the most intense fixture in Czech football.

European competition has seen Slavia reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup during the 1995–96 season and secure multiple group stage appearances in the UEFA Champions League. As of late 2026, the club remains active in European qualifiers and group stages, facing opponents like Fenerbahçe and Athletic Bilbao in the 2026–27 campaign. The modern era under manager Jindřich Trpišovský has been marked by tactical discipline and domestic dominance, including the historic unbeaten season of 2020–21.
