The honors list tells the story better than any single award could. Sirindhorn holds the highest royal orders of Thailand alongside decorations from Germany, France, Japan and Indonesia, and more than 40 universities across Thailand, China, the UK, the US and Australia have handed her honorary doctorates. In 2016 the FAO made her its Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific, a role built around food security that she still carries. Her cultural work has been recognized by Thailand's National Cultural Council for contributions to literature and calligraphy. What sets the record apart is the combination: a royal who is also a published scholar, a translator of Chinese literature, and a working diplomat, all at once.
