Shehu Buba Umar

Shehu Buba Umar's achievements are measured by his electoral success and legislative impact rather than artistic accolades. He successfully secured a seat in the Senate in 2015 and retained it through the 2023 elections, demonstrating sustained voter confidence in Bauchi South. His leadership role as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Security marked a significant milestone in his career, placing him at the forefront of national security debates. Most notably, his 2026 switch to the PRP and subsequent nomination as governorship candidate saw a historic wave of defections, with over 60,000 supporters from rival parties joining his camp, a rare feat in Nigerian politics.
