Shay Patrick Cormac

Shay Patrick Cormac was born in 1731 in New York City to an Irish immigrant father and a Mohawk mother. Orphaned at a young age, he was taken in by the Assassin Brotherhood and raised under the mentorship of Achilles Davenport at the Davenport Homestead. By the 1750s, Shay served as a skilled Assassin aboard the schooner Morrigan, which he would later captain. His early missions involved disrupting Templar operations in the North Atlantic and the American colonies.

The turning point in Shay's life came in 1755 when he was sent to Lisbon to retrieve a Precursor artifact, a Piece of Eden. Retrieving the artifact triggered a catastrophic earthquake that devastated the city, killing tens of thousands. Horrified by the destruction, Shay confronted Achilles, demanding the Brotherhood abandon their search for Precursor sites. When Achilles refused, Shay attempted to steal a manuscript detailing the sites. He was branded a traitor and shot by his former comrades, left for dead. Rescued by Templar George Monro, Shay recovered and formally joined the Templar Order in 1756, dedicating himself to stopping the Assassins' reckless pursuit of the greater good.[edit]

After joining the Templars, Shay systematically dismantles the Colonial Brotherhood, killing several former friends including Liam O'Brien. He cripples Achilles and destroys the Assassin presence in the colonies, paving the way for Templar dominance.

In 1776, an older Shay appears in Paris, where he assassinates Charles Dorian to retrieve another Precursor box, a mission that connects his story to Assassin's Creed Unity. Shay's later years are spent securing Precursor artifacts for the Templars, and he dies at an unknown date before the events of Assassin's Creed III.
