Shawn Smith

Shawn Smith never collected trophies, and that was never the point. His standing rests on the records themselves: four Brad albums that carried his voice into the Pearl Jam fanbase, three solo albums that showed his range, and a body of session and side-project work that made him a fixture of the Seattle alternative scene. What he earned instead was the respect of peers who kept calling him into the studio. For a singer with a voice that distinctive, that kind of repeat business is its own measure.
