Shake Shack

Shake Shack began as a single hot dog cart in New York City's Madison Square Park in 2001, an art installation supporting the Madison Square Park Conservancy. The chain has maintained its reputation for quality by using hormone-free Angus beef, house-made sauces, and sustainable practices. Recent expansion continues at a brisk pace. In August 2026 alone, the chain announced or opened locations in Wichita, Kansas; Seminole City, Florida; Highland Village, Texas; Alabaster, Alabama; and Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland, New York. The company reported second-quarter 2026 revenue growth of 17.2%, though profit slipped to $15.7 million due to higher costs.
