Shaggy is one of the best-selling reggae artists of all time, with over 40 million albums sold. He is the first reggae artist to score two number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. His album Hot Shot spent 16 weeks at number one on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. He has won two Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, and multiple American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards. In 2007, Jamaica awarded him the Order of Distinction for his contributions to music.

AwardsShaggy has won two Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album: in 1996 for Boombastic and in 2019 for 44/876 with Sting. He won the Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist in 2002. He also received multiple Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, and a Soul Train Music Award for Best Reggae Album.
