Sgt. Frog

Originally titled Keroro Gunso, this manga series debuted in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in April 1999. Mine Yoshizaki created the story about Sergeant Keroro, a frog-like alien commander whose invasion force arrives on Earth only to be captured by the Hinata family. Instead of conquering the planet, Keroro and his platoon spend their time playing video games, doing household chores, and engaging in slapstick antics while waiting for rescue.

The serialization continued for over two decades, concluding its initial run in August 2016 after 21 main volumes. Viz Media published the English edition from 2005 until 2011 before releasing digital versions later. The work won the 50th Shogakukan Manga Award in the children's category in 2005, marking a significant recognition for its humor and character dynamics beyond simple gags. [edit]
