Overview
On March 5, 2025, WWE launched a new television series on Tubi called WWE EVOLVE. It is the company's third developmental brand, sitting below NXT and the main roster. The show films in smaller venues, stripping away the pyrotechnics and elaborate entrances of Raw or SmackDown. What remains is raw athletic competition and character work, presented as a proving ground for wrestlers who have just signed with WWE.
The name EVOLVE comes from the independent promotion of the same name, which WWE acquired in 2020. That promotion had built a reputation for showcasing technical wrestling and future stars. WWE revived the name for a series that serves a similar purpose: giving new talent television experience while they train at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. The show airs weekly on Tubi, a free ad-supported platform owned by Fox Corporation. It is the first WWE original series produced exclusively for that service.
Two seasons have aired so far. Season 1 ran 49 episodes from March through late 2025. Season 2 followed in early 2026 with 18 episodes, concluding on March 18, 2026. The series has been renewed for a third season. Each season tracks multiple wrestlers as they compete for the EVOLVE Championship and the EVOLVE Women's Championship, develop rivalries, and try to earn a call-up to a higher brand.

PlotSpoiler-free
WWE EVOLVE presents itself as a talent incubator. The show follows a rotating roster of developmental wrestlers who have recently signed with WWE. They train at the Performance Center and travel to small venues for weekly matches. There is no single protagonist. Instead, the series weaves together multiple storylines, each centered on a different performer's journey through the system.
The central conflict is the struggle for advancement. Every match carries stakes: a win might earn a title shot, a loss could stall a career. The on-screen authority figures, played by WWE veterans, assign matches and decide who gets opportunities. They act as gatekeepers, testing the wrestlers' skills and charisma. The brand emphasizes growth over spectacle. Storylines focus on character development, in-ring improvement, and the pressure of performing under the WWE banner.
Season 1 introduced the core roster and established the EVOLVE Championship and EVOLVE Women's Championship as the top prizes. The season used tournament formats and round-robin competitions to build contenders. Rivalries developed from competitive matches and personal conflicts, often rooted in the wrestlers' real-life backgrounds or training styles. The season also featured occasional appearances by established WWE stars, who served as mentors or special challengers.
Season 2 expanded the roster with new recruits from WWE's recruitment system and the independent scene. It escalated existing feuds and introduced redemption arcs for wrestlers who had struggled in Season 1. The season maintained the developmental theme, with storylines that tested the performers' resilience and adaptability. New championship contenders emerged, and the brand's hierarchy shifted as some wrestlers moved closer to a potential call-up.
The show never reveals whether any particular wrestler ultimately makes it to the main roster. That uncertainty is built into the premise. Each episode is another step in an ongoing journey, and every victory or defeat carries weight for the future. The series presents the developmental process as a meritocracy where talent, hard work, and luck all play a role.

Critical Consensus
As a newly launched series with only a handful of reviews, WWE EVOLVE has not yet accumulated enough critical feedback for a consensus. Early IMDb ratings from a small sample of viewers are positive, but professional reviews from major outlets remain absent.
