Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Josh Friedman created this sci-fi action drama that picks up four years after Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) and her son John (Thomas Dekker) are still on the run, trying to stay hidden from the government while plotting to destroy Skynet before it launches Judgment Day. They get help from a mysterious Terminator named Cameron (Summer Glau) and a time-traveling resistance fighter, Derek Reese (Brian Austin Green). The series aired on FOX for two seasons totaling 31 episodes, from January 2008 to April 2009. It blends tense family drama with killer-robot mayhem and time-travel paradoxes. Four years after Sarah and John Connor prevented Judgment Day in Terminator 2, they are still fugitives. Sarah has trained John in combat and survival, preparing him to lead the human resistance against Skynet. But the future keeps sending new threats. A T-888 Terminator named Cromartie (Garret Dillahunt) pursues them across the country. Then a female-model Terminator, Cameron (Summer Glau), arrives claiming to be reprogrammed to protect John. She joins their makeshift family, though her true loyalties remain uncertain.

The Connors discover that Skynet's development is already underway at a corporation called ZeiraCorp. FBI Agent James Ellison (Richard T. Jones) hunts them, slowly learning the truth about the future war. Derek Reese (Brian Austin Green), John's uncle from the future, brings knowledge of Skynet's timeline but also complicates the group's dynamics. The first season builds toward a confrontation with Cromartie and the revelation that Judgment Day is still coming, just on a different schedule.

Season two expands the mythology. Catherine Weaver (Shirley Manson), the enigmatic CEO of ZeiraCorp, is revealed to be a T-1001 Terminator working to perfect Skynet. The Connors encounter more resistance fighters from various timelines, grapple with temporal paradoxes, and face moral dilemmas about changing the future. Sarah grows more ruthless, John wrestles with his destiny, and Cameron explores her own emerging humanity. The season builds toward a radical decision: instead of preventing Judgment Day, John proposes jumping forward in time to after the war has begun.[edit]
