Overview
The Turkish title is Siyah Beyaz Aşk, which translates literally as Black and White Love, and that contrast is the whole architecture of the show. Ferhat Aslan kills people for the organization run by his uncle. Aslı Çınar saves them for a living. When she is pulled into an operating room to save a man Ferhat put a bullet in, the two worlds stop being separate.
Kanal D aired the series from October 16, 2017 to May 28, 2018, and it ran a single season of 32 episodes. Those episodes are long, close to two hours and twenty minutes each, which is standard for Turkish broadcast drama and gives the writers room for the slow stuff: glances held a beat too long, family dinners that turn into interrogations, a man learning to say something honest out loud.
Sema Ergenekon and Eylem Canpolat created it, and Ergenekon and Canpolat wrote it alongside Erkan Birgören and Banu Tekcan. Yasin Uslu and Emir Khalilzadeh directed. İbrahim Çelikkol and Birce Akalay carry the central pair, and the show leans hard on the chemistry between them rather than on plot mechanics alone.

Ferhat Aslan has spent his adult life inside a criminal organization headed by his uncle, Namık Emirhan. He is good at the work and bad at almost everything else. Emotions are a liability in his line, so he has arranged himself into a man who does not appear to have any. Then a job goes sideways in a way that puts a surgeon's hands on the outcome.
Aslı Çınar is a young doctor who takes the oath seriously. She believes in the rules of her profession and in the idea that a life on the table is a life worth fighting for, regardless of who the patient is or what he has done. When she is made to operate on a man Ferhat shot, she does her job. That decision puts her inside a world she has no map for, and it gives Ferhat a reason to keep her close.
What follows is a contract marriage, the kind of arrangement that Turkish drama has refined into an art form. Aslı and Ferhat are bound together by circumstances neither of them chose and neither of them fully controls. The blackmail runs in both directions. She has something he needs. He has leverage over her. And underneath the leverage, slowly, something else starts to grow that neither of them is willing to name out loud.
The world around them is crowded and loud. Namık runs the family business with an eye on loyalty and an iron grip on his nephew. Yeter Aslan, the family matriarch, has her own ideas about who belongs in the household and who does not. Ferhat's brother Yiğit and Gülsüm Aslan move through the same orbit, and their loyalties shift as the season goes. On Aslı's side there is Cem Çınar and a family that does not understand what she has gotten herself into. İdil Yaman, Cüneyt Koçak, Vildan Koçak, and Abidin Adaklı fill out a cast of people who each want something from the central pair, and a mute figure called Dilsiz moves through the story in ways that keep the audience guessing.
The season's engine is the thaw. Ferhat does not become a different man overnight. He becomes a slightly less closed one, episode by episode, and the show is patient about it. Jealousy arrives before trust does. Betrayal arrives before honesty does. There are pregnancy scares, there are gunshots, there are long scenes of two people in a room not saying the thing they mean. Aslı's ethics get tested again and again, and the interesting question is not whether she will compromise but how much of herself she can keep while the world keeps asking.
By the end of the 32 episodes the story has moved through the full arc of the contract marriage premise: the forced beginning, the grudging middle, the point where the arrangement stops being an arrangement. The final stretch resolves the romantic question the show posed in its first hour, and it does so without leaving the door open for another season.

Critical Reception
Critical Consensus
No Tomatometer or Metacritic score exists for this one. English-language outlets like the New York Times, Variety, and The Guardian never reviewed it, so there is no critical consensus to quote. What the numbers do show is a modest but positive audience response: roughly 7.9 out of 10 on IMDb from about 194 ratings, matched on TMDB. That is the profile of a well-liked melodrama with a devoted niche following rather than a critics' title.
