A man known only as The Professor recruits eight people with nothing to lose. Each takes a city name: Tokio, Berlín, Río, Nairobi, Denver, Helsinki, Oslo, and Moscú. After five months of training on a remote estate, they enter the Royal Mint of Spain in Madrid, take 67 hostages, and begin printing €984 million. The plan lasts eleven days. The Professor directs everything from a secret location, manipulating the police investigation led by Inspector Raquel Murillo. Inside the Mint, tensions rise. Berlín's authoritarian leadership clashes with others. Hostage Mónica Gaztambide develops feelings for robber Denver, a classic Stockholm syndrome case that the team nicknames Stockholm.
