London's criminal underworld gets a fresh coat of blood in MobLand, a Paramount+ series that dropped its first season in spring 2025. Created by Ronan Bennett, the show drops viewers into a war between two crime families: the Harrigans and the Stevensons. At the center of the chaos stands Harry Da Souza, played by Tom Hardy, a fixer whose job is to keep the Harrigans' empire from collapsing under its own weight. Pierce Brosnan plays Conrad Harrigan, the patriarch, while Helen Mirren brings a chilling edge as his wife Maeve.

The series runs ten episodes, each around 52 minutes, and aired from March 30 to June 1, 2025. It landed at number two on Paramount+'s viewership chart right out of the gate and got picked up for a second season within weeks. The show's TV-MA rating is earned honestly, violence here is blunt and personal, not stylized. What sets MobLand apart from other gangster dramas is its focus on the domestic rot inside the Harrigan household. His wife Maeve operates as the family's true strategist, manipulating events from their sprawling London mansion. Their son Kevin, played by Paddy Considine, is the heir apparent, but he's tired of waiting for his father to step aside.

Harry Da Souza works as the Harrigans' fixer. When problems arise, a botched deal, a dead body, a rival making noise, Harry gets the call. He's good at his job, but the job keeps getting harder. The Stevenson family, led by Richie Stevenson, sees the Harrigans' internal fractures as an opportunity. They start pushing into Harrigan territory, testing boundaries with increasing aggression. Harry finds himself running from one fire to the next, trying to prevent a full-scale war while also dealing with his crumbling marriage to Jan, a woman who wants out of the life entirely.

The season traces the fallout from Eddie's initial mistake. Every attempt to contain the damage only creates new problems. Maeve grooms Eddie for a larger role in the family business, whispering promises of power into his ear. Kevin begins making moves behind his father's back, securing alliances that could tip the balance of power. Harry uncovers secrets about the Harrigans' past that make him question who he's really working for. The Stevenson threat grows bolder, culminating in attacks that force the Harrigans to respond. By the final episodes, the fragile order has collapsed entirely. Characters are forced to choose sides, and those choices come with lethal consequences.
