Assane Diop's life is shaped by a single tragedy: when he was a teenager, his father Babakar was falsely accused of stealing a priceless diamond necklace from the wealthy Pellegrini family. Babakar died in prison, and Assane, inspired by the Arsène Lupin novels his father gave him, dedicates his life to becoming a gentleman thief. As an adult, Assane masterminds an elaborate plan to steal the same necklace from the Louvre, setting off a chain of events designed to expose Hubert Pellegrini, the man who framed his father.

The series is structured in parts rather than traditional seasons. Part 1 establishes Assane's origin and his intricate revenge plot against Pellegrini, weaving in his strained relationship with Claire and their son Raoul. Part 2 escalates the confrontation, with Pellegrini fighting back and Assane's family caught in the crossfire. Part 3 finds Assane in hiding, separated from his loved ones, but he returns to Paris with a proposal for a fresh start, only to be disrupted by a figure from his past. Part 4 is confirmed for October 2026, continuing the story with Omar Sy reprising his role.
