H.E.R.B.I.E.

H.E.R.B.I.E. stands as a unique fixture in the Marvel universe, serving as the robotic conscience and helper to the Fantastic Four. This silver sphere first rolled onto screens in 1978 within The New Fantastic Four animated series, where Frank Welker provided its distinctive voice before the character joined the comic book continuity shortly after. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, this mechanical sidekick offers a blend of technical support and dry humor that sets it apart from typical superhero gadgets.

The robot recently stepped into live-action territory with Matthew Wood reprising the role for the upcoming film The Fantastic Four: First Steps in 2025. While the original run lasted only a single season of the cartoon, H.E.R.B.I.E. has maintained a steady presence across decades of comics and animation. The character brings a lighthearted tone to stories often filled with cosmic threats, acting as a bridge between high-stakes adventure and everyday problem solving. [edit]
