Girls Band Cry

Nina Iseri trades her high school uniform for a one-way ticket to Tokyo, seeking something the suburbs could not provide. She finds that spark in Momoka Kawaragi, a street performer whose raw vocal power draws Nina into a new world of sound and struggle. This premise drives Girls Band Cry, a 13-episode anime series that aired on TOKYO MX from April to June 2024. The show blends slice-of-life drama with the high energy of rock music, exploring how five lonely women build a family through their instruments. Written by Jukki Hanada, the series features voice talents like Rina as Nina and Yuri as Momoka, bringing distinct personalities to life alongside Subaru Awa, Tomo Ebizuka, and Rupa. Critics and viewers have responded well to its emotional depth, earning a solid 7.9 rating despite its short run. The animation style stands out by using 3D models to capture the intensity of live performance without losing the human touch. It is a story about finding your voice when the world tries to silence you.[edit]
