Records

Şenol Güneş is one of the most decorated figures in Turkish football history. His greatest achievement remains leading Turkey to a bronze medal at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, a feat no other Turkish manager has matched. He is one of only two Turkish managers to win a World Cup medal. At club level, he won back-to-back Süper Lig titles with Beşiktaş in 2016 and 2017, ending the club's seven-year league title drought. He also won the Turkish Cup twice as a manager with Trabzonspor. His longevity and loyalty are remarkable: he has managed Trabzonspor in three separate stints and Beşiktaş in two, earning legendary status at both clubs.

AwardsŞenol Güneş has won numerous managerial awards, including the Turkish Footballer of the Year (as manager) three times in 2002, 2016, and 2017. He was named Süper Lig Manager of the Year in 2016 and 2017. Internationally, he ranked third in the IFFHS World's Best National Coach rankings in 2002. As a player, he won six Süper Lig titles, a Turkish Cup, and five Turkish Super Cups with Trabzonspor.
