Sealed with a Kiss

The song known as Sealed with a Kiss originated in May 1960 when The Four Voices recorded the composition by Peter Udell and Gary Geld. That initial release failed to chart significantly, leaving the track as a minor footnote until Brian Hyland reworked it for Decca Records in early 1962. His version transformed the simple ballad into an international hit that peaked at number three on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.

Bobby Vinton later released his own studio album titled Sealed With A Kiss on Epic Records in 1972, which featured the title track alongside other romantic numbers. This compilation helped cement the song's status as a pop standard long after Hyland's original single had faded from radio rotation. The track resurfaced again in June 1989 when Jason Donovan covered it, taking the song to number one in the United Kingdom and introducing the melody to a new generation of listeners.

Agnetha Fältskog and Gary Lewis & the Playboys also recorded their own versions of the song, though these were typically issued as singles or B-sides rather than anchor tracks for dedicated albums. No single studio album contains recordings from all these artists; instead, the title refers to the song itself or various collections of hits by individual performers who interpreted the material over several decades.
