Scherrie Payne's most significant achievement is her role as the lead singer of The Supremes during their final and most creatively diverse period. She is the only member to have sung lead on all four of the group's post-Diana Ross studio albums. Her powerful vocals anchored the group's sound from 1973 to 1977.
