Records
Sarah Polley is one of the most decorated Canadian filmmakers of her generation. She won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Women Talking in 2023, becoming only the second Canadian woman to win an Oscar in a screenplay category. Her documentary Stories We Tell was shortlisted for an Oscar and won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Documentary. She has received multiple Genie and Canadian Screen Awards across acting, directing, and writing categories. In 2023, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada, the country's second-highest civilian honour, recognizing her contributions to film and advocacy. She was also named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in 2023.
