    Saida Karoli's career is marked by her role as a pioneer of Haya folk music on the East African stage. Her song "Maria Salome" became a regional anthem, reaching number three on Tanzanian radio and earning her the nickname Wanchekecha in Uganda. She has performed for the Kabaka of Buganda, a rare honor, and has been a featured act at the Sauti Za Busara Festival multiple times. In 2013, her music reached Hollywood when "Maria Salome" was included in Tyler Perry's Peeples, a landmark moment for Tanzanian traditional music. Her resilience in overcoming personal and financial challenges has made her an inspiration to many.
