Rüfüs Du Sol is an Australian electronic music group known for their distinctive blend of live instrumentation and electronic production. They have achieved significant global success, with multiple number-one albums in their home country, including their debut, Atlas. Their single "Innerbloom" became a platinum-certified hit, and their album Surrender earned them a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for the single "Alive." Currently, Rüfüs Du Sol operates their own label, Rose Avenue Records, and continues to release new music and embark on major tours. Rüfüs Du Sol, initially performing as Rüfüs, began their journey in Sydney in late 2010 when three friends, Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hunt, decided to fuse their shared love of electronic music with live instrumentation. The members came together through a shared network of friends after high school. Lindqvist, who had been writing songs and playing in bands, moved to Sydney from his hometown of Lightning Ridge, an inland mining town. George hailed from the surfing suburb of Cronulla, and Hunt from Sydney's northern suburbs. Already in the city, George and Hunt found common ground with Lindqvist in their appreciation for dynamic live electronic acts like Cut Copy and The Presets, alongside the emotional depth found in artists such as Radiohead and Booka Shade.

The trio quickly established a creative rhythm, jamming in a small studio where they experimented with blending live drums, keyboards, and vocals with electronic production. Within months of their formation on November 1, 2010, they had recorded their first EP. This self-titled debut EP was released independently in January 2011 and quickly sold out its initial pressing. The momentum continued with the single "We Left," released in July 2011, which topped the Australian club chart. Alongside "Paris Collides," "We Left" quickly gained significant traction on Hype Machine.
