RSO

RSO is no longer active. The duo released one album, RSO, in May 2018 on BMG, and performed a handful of shows in support of it. Their sound blended Sambora's arena-rock instincts with Orianthi's blues-pop fluency. The project ended when the couple's four-year relationship came to a close in late 2018. [edit]

Richie Sambora and Orianthi first crossed paths in 2014 when Sambora, then on hiatus from Bon Jovi, was invited to jam with Orianthi at a private event. They hit it off musically and personally, and soon began writing together. By 2016, they had a batch of songs and decided to formalize the partnership as RSO, using their initials as the band name. They signed with BMG and recorded at Sambora's studio in Los Angeles. The self-titled debut was released on May 18, 2018, preceded by the single 'Made in America.' The album peaked at number 14 on the US Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart. The duo played a short tour of the US and Europe in mid-2018, but by the fall, the relationship had soured. RSO's sound was rooted in classic rock with a modern pop sensibility. Sambora's signature talk-box guitar and anthemic hooks met Orianthi's fluid, blues-inflected leads.
