Romelia War Chronicle

The story opens immediately after Prince Henri and his allies slay the Demon King Zergis. Romelia, a countess and mage who fought at his side, expects a triumphant return to the capital. Instead, Henri publicly dissolves their engagement on the spot, declaring her useless now that the war is over. Stripped of her title and abandoned by her former comrades, Romelia returns to her home territory, which remains under demonic control and holds enslaved humans in bondage.

Refusing to accept this fate, she launches a solo campaign to liberate her lands without a formal army. She employs unconventional tactics such as pressuring local lords to seize fortresses through political maneuvering rather than force and sending inexperienced recruits on monster-hunting missions to gain combat experience. Lucrative deals with merchants provide the necessary funding for her efforts. As she systematically rebuilds her forces and liberates towns, loyal allies gradually gather around her to face the lingering dangers of the post-war world.

Ryō Ariyama launched the series as a web serial on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in August 2019 before Shogakukan acquired it for print under the Gagaga Books imprint. The first volume arrived on June 19, 2020, illustrated by Kodama. Ryō Kamito took over illustration duties starting with Volume 6 and also adapted the story into a manga serialized via the Manga Doa app since April 2021. An anime adaptation produced by studio Atra premiered on October 3, 2026, streaming globally on Crunchyroll. [edit]
