Roc Nation Sports launched in spring 2013 as the sports management arm of Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter in 2008. The division extends the parent company's artist-centric philosophy to athlete representation, treating sports figures as entertainers and brands rather than simply competitors. Roc Nation Sports operates across MLB, NBA, NFL, and soccer, with a roster that includes LaMelo Ball, Kevin De Bruyne, Vini Jr., and Skylar Diggins, among others. Michael Yormark serves as President and CEO of Roc Nation Sports International, overseeing global operations from offices in New York, Beverly Hills, Nashville, and London. The company opened a London office in 2019 to expand its international footprint, followed by Roc Nation Sports Brazil in 2023. In April 2026, Roc Nation Sports International announced a strategic partnership with KS Cracovia, Poland's oldest football club, marking continued growth in European soccer. The division also launched a full-service boxing promotion arm in 2014.

Roc Nation Sports positions itself as a disruptive force in sports management, competing with agencies like CAA Sports and Wasserman. Its integration with Roc Nation's entertainment ecosystem allows athletes to build their personal brands across music, fashion, and media in ways traditional sports agencies cannot match.
