Mahrez's career is defined by historic firsts and rare achievements. He was the first African player to win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award, and his 2015-16 Premier League title with Leicester City is widely considered the greatest underdog story in sports history. He is one of the few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and UEFA Champions League with the same club (Manchester City), and he completed a continental treble in 2023. Internationally, he captained Algeria to their second Africa Cup of Nations title in 2019, scoring crucial goals along the way. His individual awards, including the CAF African Footballer of the Year, place him among the elite of African football.
