Richard Matheson's accolades span multiple genres and decades. He won a Hugo Award for his screenplay of The Incredible Shrinking Man in 1958, an Edgar for television writing, and multiple World Fantasy and Bram Stoker Awards. He received lifetime achievement honors from the World Fantasy Convention, the Horror Writers Association, and the World Horror Convention. His novel I Am Legend was listed by NPR as one of the top science fiction books and by the Library of Congress as a book that shaped America. He was inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in 2010.
