Howard's career is marked by rapid achievement. She is the first Kentucky women's basketball player to be selected first overall in the WNBA draft. Her rookie season saw her sweep Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie honors while earning an All-Star nod. She has made the All-Star team every year of her career through 2025. In 2025, she added All-Defensive Team recognition, reflecting her growth on that end. Her 2,290 career points at Kentucky rank second in program history, and she remains one of the most decorated players in Wildcats history.

AwardsHoward has won WNBA Rookie of the Year (2022), been named to the All-Rookie Team (2022), made four consecutive All-Star appearances (2022–2025), and earned a spot on the All-Defensive Team (2025). In college, she was USBWA National Freshman of the Year (2019), two-time SEC Player of the Year (2020, 2021), and a first-team AP All-American (2022).
