Rhio

Rhianna McDonnell, known by her ring name Rhio, is an English professional wrestler who has made a name for herself on the UK independent scene. She is best known for her two reigns as the Progress Wrestling World Women's Champion and her technical, hard-hitting style that draws from a background in martial arts. As of 2026, she continues to work as a freelancer, regularly appearing for Progress Wrestling, Pro-Wrestling: EVE, and Pro Championship Wrestling. Her reputation rests on consistent, high-quality performances and a no-nonsense athletic presence that resonates with fans of independent wrestling.[edit]

Rhio grew up in Birmingham and was active in sports from a young age. She trained in kickboxing and judo, which gave her a solid foundation in combat sports. Her interest in professional wrestling sparked in her teens after watching WWE, especially drawn to the athleticism of women's wrestling. She studied sports science at Birmingham Metropolitan College while continuing martial arts training. Her first step toward wrestling came at the Pro-Wrestling: EVE training school in London, where she trained before making her professional debut in 2015 under her real name. She later adopted the Rhio moniker and won the EVE International Championship in 2016, marking her first major title.[edit]

Rhio's breakthrough came in 2017 when she debuted for Progress Wrestling. In 2018, she defeated Jinny at Progress Chapter 68 to win the Progress Wrestling World Women's Championship for the first time. She successfully defended the title against Millie McKenzie and Nina Samuels before losing it later that year. In 2020, she regained the championship, becoming a two-time Progress Wrestling World Women's Champion. Beyond Progress, she has been a mainstay in Pro-Wrestling: EVE, winning multiple titles, and has competed for Pro Championship Wrestling and other UK promotions. Her style blends technical wrestling with strikes from her martial arts background. As of 2026, she remains an active freelancer, taking bookings across the UK independent scene.[edit]

Rhio presents a straightforward, athletic look in the ring, typically wearing dark-colored gear with her name displayed. She does not use an elaborate character gimmick, instead coming across as a serious, competitive athlete. Media coverage focuses on her championship achievements and technical ability, portraying her as a hardworking independent wrestler who earned her place through consistent performance. Her social media voice is professional and centered on wrestling content. She has a dedicated but niche following within UK wrestling fandom, without an official fan name or established rituals.[edit]

Rhio stands as a formidable force on the British independent circuit, yet she currently holds no placement in the iFANN Global Top 1,000 rankings. The iFANN Global Fame Engine has evaluated her profile and confirmed that while her name carries weight within specific wrestling circles, she does not currently occupy a ranked position on the published lists. Her influence stems less from global metrics and more from the tangible buzz generated by industry veterans. A pivotal moment for her rising profile occurred when WWE Hall of Famer Natalya publicly endorsed her potential arrival on the main stage, creating a narrative of imminent stardom that resonates far beyond standard indie crowds. This endorsement acts as a catalyst, turning casual observers into advocates without a formalized fan club structure. Fans refer to her simply as Rhio or by her self-proclaimed titles like "Most Dangerous Woman in Europe," fostering an organic community built on shared appreciation for her technical prowess rather than organized branding. There is no documented fandom name, nor are there recorded rituals or fan-funded campaigns like subway ads. Instead, the collective energy manifests through digital advocacy and attendance at major UK events where she headlines matches against established stars like Kay Lee Ray. Her reputation travels through word-of-mouth and high-profile tournament runs, such as the Super Strong Style 16, proving that her fame is built on consistent performance and peer respect rather than algorithmic dominance.[edit]

Her ring name Rhio is a stylized abbreviation of Rhianna. She honed her craft at the Pro-Wrestling: EVE school, an institution known for producing top-tier UK female talent. Drawing from a martial arts background, her in-ring style relies heavily on kicks and strikes, earning her praise for sharp psychology from peers across England, Scotland, Wales, and Europe. A defining legend in her short career emerged when WWE legend Natalya declared Rhio an "incredible addition" to the women's roster, sparking widespread speculation about her future in the world's biggest promotion. Another iconic chapter unfolded at PRO WRESTLING EVE 151, where she faced former NXT Women's Champion Kay Lee Ray in a live event titled "Beers, Brawls and Burlesque." These moments have cemented her status as a "next big thing" among fans who track her rise from the local scene to international tournaments like the Super Strong Style 16 in Las Vegas.[edit]

Rhio keeps her family life private and has not publicly shared details about her parents or siblings. She has not mentioned having a spouse or children. She resides in the UK and maintains a low profile regarding her personal household.[edit]

Rhio has faced top UK wrestlers including Jinny, whom she defeated for her first Progress Women's Championship, and Millie McKenzie and Nina Samuels, who were opponents in title defenses. She is associated with Progress Wrestling and Pro-Wrestling: EVE, where she has spent most of her career.[edit]

Rhio has kept her romantic relationships private. There are no confirmed public relationships reported in credible sources as of 2026. She has not been publicly linked to any partners, nor has she been married or had children. Her latest reported status is single, with no current partner known.[edit]

Per iFANN's editorial analysis, Rhio's estimated net worth is around $200,000 as of 2026. This figure reflects her earnings from independent wrestling appearances, where top UK indy stars typically command between $300 and $500 per show. Additional revenue streams include merchandise sales, such as T-shirts and prints sold directly at events and online. She also generates income by training students at wrestling schools and maintains a modest social media presence that contributes limited financial gain. She does not have major endorsement deals, real estate holdings, or external business ventures reported. Her net worth has grown steadily as she established herself as a two-time champion and a consistent performer on the UK scene.[edit]

Rhio is a two-time Progress Wrestling World Women's Champion and a one-time EVE International Champion. These championship victories represent the major accolades of her career on the UK independent wrestling scene.[edit]
