Rhaegar Targaryen

Rhaegar was born in 259 AC at Summerhall during a great fire that consumed the castle and killed King Aegon V. His birth amidst flames was seen as a sign of destiny. As a child, he was bookish and melancholic, more interested in reading and playing the silver-stringed harp than in martial pursuits. But after reading a prophecy that he believed marked him as the Prince That Was Promised, he dedicated himself to becoming a warrior. He trained under Ser Arthur Dayne and became a formidable knight, though he never lost his introspective nature.
