His career is defined by high-energy performances and a transition into international acting projects.

As of 2026, Ren has expanded his reach beyond music with a notable role in the Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. This casting marked a significant shift for the idol, proving his versatility to global audiences familiar with the Godzilla franchise. Despite frequent online speculation, he is not related to the acclaimed actor Ken Watanabe; their shared surname is purely coincidental. [edit]

Before stepping onto the world stage, Ren spent years honing his craft through rigorous training within the LDH Entertainment ecosystem. His journey began in 2013 when he entered the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE, a nationwide audition designed to find young talent across Japan. Although this initial attempt did not lead to an immediate debut, it set the foundation for his future path.

In 2014, he enrolled at EXPG Studio Yokohama, a prestigious dance and vocal school run by LDH. Here, he dedicated himself to mastering rapping, singing, and complex choreography. The following years were spent in a multi-year apprenticeship where he performed in various units and showcases before being selected for the formation of PSYCHIC FEVER. A pivotal moment arrived in 2018 when he successfully passed the EXPG Lab audition, solidifying his status as a trainee ready for the next level. Unlike some peers who debuted quickly, Ren's path involved this extended period of refinement within the agency's unique training system. [edit]
