Ren Kawashiri and JO1 have achieved remarkable success in the Japanese music industry. The group has won six Japan Gold Disc Awards, including Best New Artist and multiple Best 3 Albums and Best 3 Singles honors. Their debut single Protostar topped the Oricon chart, and they became one of the few K-pop-style groups to perform at Tokyo Dome within three years of debut. Kawashiri's individual photobook Ren sold over 30,000 copies in its first week, a strong showing for a solo idol photobook. He was also named an Honorary Ambassador for Fukuoka Prefecture in 2024, highlighting his cultural impact.
