Rebuild World

Akira wakes up inside a brutal fantasy MMORPG that has shut down its servers, only to find the game world is now his permanent reality. Unlike typical gaming scenarios where players log out or respawn at safe zones, this post-apocalyptic setting offers no safety nets. Monsters are real, death is final, and the environment itself acts as a hostile force against him.

He navigates the ruins of a long-dead civilization alongside Alpha, an artificial intelligence entity from the original game. Together they venture into dangerous territories to scavenge resources and hunt powerful creatures known as Hunters while avoiding corporate city-states that thrive on the detritus of the old era. The series explores themes of survival in a lawless society and contrasts virtual game logic with harsh physical reality.

Nahuse wrote the story originally for Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting in February 2017 before ASCII Media Works acquired it for print publication under their Dengeki no Shin Bungei imprint on May 17, 2019. Gin handles character illustrations while yish supervised character designs and cell managed environment and machinery art. The franchise has since expanded to include a manga adaptation and an announced television anime set to reveal key visuals in October 2026. [edit]
