Ray Houghton's most cherished accolades are the two goals that made him a national hero in Ireland. The first, against England at Euro 1988, gave Ireland their first ever win at a major tournament. The second, a looping header against Italy at the 1994 World Cup, produced another famous upset. These moments are celebrated by Irish fans to this day.
