Varane's trophy cabinet is among the most decorated of any defender in history. He is one of only a handful of players to win the World Cup, UEFA Champions League (four times), and UEFA Nations League. His four Champions League titles place him joint-third all-time. He was the youngest French captain in a World Cup knockout match (2018). His 18 trophies at Real Madrid rank him among the club's most successful players. He was named in the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season in 2018 and won the UNFP French Player of the Year in 2018.
