As the 29th Minister of Defence since 2019 and Deputy Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha since 2014, he has been a central figure in India's governance. Singh's political journey began as a swayamsevak with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and he rose through the ranks of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), serving as its president twice, from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2013 to 2014.
