Raíces

The true achievement of Raíces lies in their artistic innovation rather than trophy cabinets. They managed to carve out a unique space in the Argentine music landscape by refusing to follow the standard rock formula. Their willingness to experiment with candombe rhythms ahead of their time earned them respect from critics and fellow musicians. While they may not have won the most awards, their influence on the direction of Latin rock is undeniable. The band's legacy is further cemented by the subsequent success of its members. Andrés Calamaro went on to become one of the most celebrated solo artists in Latin America, often citing his time in Raíces as a formative experience. This trajectory highlights the importance of the group as a training ground for talent that would shape the region's music for decades.
