Rage Against the Machine's achievements speak for themselves: two consecutive No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, over 16 million records sold worldwide, and a Grammy win. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023, a recognition of their enduring influence. Their 2009 UK Christmas No. 1 campaign was a historic moment, proving the power of fan organizing. Rolling Stone placed their debut album among the 500 greatest of all time, and VH1 ranked them No. 33 on their list of hard rock's greatest artists. These honors reflect a band that never compromised their art or their politics.

In 2009, a Facebook group organized a campaign to get 'Killing in the Name' to the UK Christmas No. 1, defeating the X Factor winner. It was the first time a social media campaign had toppled a reality show winner.
