Grimes's college accolades stand out: he is one of the few players to win both Big 12 Freshman of the Year and AAC Player of the Year. Leading Houston to the Final Four after a 37-year drought was a historic achievement. His high school honors, including McDonald's All-American and Gatorade State Player of the Year, marked him as one of the top recruits in the nation.
