Que Calor

On September 11, 2019, Major Lazer dropped "Qué Calor" through Diplo's label Mad Decent. The track brought together Colombian superstar J Balvin and Dominican rapper El Alfa for a high-energy fusion of electronic dance music and reggaeton. It was the second single from Major Lazer's fourth studio album Music Is the Weapon, released the following year, and marked the group's second collaboration with J Balvin after 2017's "Buscando Huellas."

The song's production came from Diplo alongside Brazilian duo Tropkillaz and Dee Mad, layering pounding beats with tropical flourishes. Lyrically, the track rides a celebratory wave, with Balvin and El Alfa trading verses in Spanish about heat and movement. An English-language translation of the lyrics was also released to broaden its international appeal, reflecting Major Lazer's long-standing strategy of crossing linguistic and genre boundaries.

"Qué Calor" peaked at number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit number one on the Hot Latin Songs chart. In the UK, it reached number 88. The track earned a Latin Platinum certification from the RIAA, representing 60,000 units in the Latin field, plus Platinum in Spain and Gold in France and Italy.
