A significant part of its early strategy involved fostering a more permissive environment for streamers, offering them more favorable revenue splits compared to established competitors. This approach, coupled with its openness to online gambling streams – a category largely absent from other major platforms – attracted a specific segment of the streaming community and its audience.

Backed by the online casino company Stake and bolstered by the influence of streaming personality Trainwreckstv, Kick aimed to disrupt the existing landscape. The platform made significant waves in 2023 by securing high-profile exclusive deals with popular streamers like Adin Ross and xQc, further signaling its ambition. By the third quarter of 2025, Kick had climbed the ranks, with StreamCharts data indicating it became the fourth most-watched livestreaming platform among those it monitors, trailing only giants like YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch. Its visibility also extended beyond the digital realm, as Kick served as the primary sponsor for the Sauber Motorsport Formula One racing team from 2023 through the end of 2025, a move that significantly broadened its brand recognition.
