Plymouth Argyle Football Club, often simply called Argyle, is a professional football club based in Plymouth, Devon, England. They currently play in EFL League One, the third tier of English football. The club has called Home Park its home since 1901, making it one of the oldest grounds in the country.

The nickname "The Pilgrims" comes from the Pilgrim Fathers, who set sail from Plymouth to the New World in 1620. The club crest features the Mayflower, the ship that carried them. The team has traditionally worn green and white, though they switched to all-white in the late 1960s and early 1970s. A darker shade, known as Argyle green, was adopted in the 2001–02 season and has been the club's color ever since.

Plymouth is the largest city in England never to have hosted a top-flight men's football team, and Argyle is the most southerly and westerly League club in the country. Founded as Argyle in 1886, the club turned professional in 1903 and joined both the Southern and Western Leagues. They won the Western League in 1904–05 and the Southern League in 1912–13 before being elected to the Football League in 1920.
