Piper Niven

Piper Niven, born Kimberly Benson on 6 May 1991 in Kilbirnie, Scotland, is a professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, performing on SmackDown as part of The Green Regime stable. She built her reputation on the UK independent circuit under the ring name Viper, capturing championships in Insane Championship Wrestling, Scottish Wrestling Alliance, and Japan's World Wonder Ring Stardom. In WWE, she has held the Women's Tag Team Championship with Chelsea Green and the 24/7 Championship twice. Known for her agility and power, Niven has been a consistent presence in the women's division since her main roster debut in 2021.[edit]

Kimberly Benson grew up in Kilbirnie, a small town in North Ayrshire. She was a tomboy who took up judo at a young age, eventually earning a black belt. Her father introduced her to professional wrestling by showing her WWE tapes, and she became a devoted fan. At 16, she began training at the Scottish Wrestling Alliance (SWA) in 2007, making her professional debut the following year as Viper. To support herself before wrestling became a full-time career, she worked as a bartender and in a call centre. She attended Garnock Academy but left at 16 to pursue wrestling full-time.[edit]

Niven's international break came in 2015 when she toured with World Wonder Ring Stardom in Japan, winning the Artist of Stardom Championship alongside Evie and Kellie Skater. She returned to the UK and won the ICW Women's Championship in 2016. Her entry into WWE's 2017 Mae Young Classic put her on the company's radar; she defeated Santana Garrett before losing to Mercedes Martinez. She signed a WWE contract in 2019 and was assigned to NXT UK. In 2021, she debuted on SmackDown as Piper Niven, initially aligning with Eva Marie. The pivotal partnership came in 2023 when she teamed with Chelsea Green; they won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at a live event. After the 2024 WWE Draft, the duo moved to SmackDown and rebranded as The Green Regime. As of 2026, Niven continues to compete on SmackDown, regularly facing top stars like Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair.[edit]

Niven is known for a powerful yet agile wrestling style, using moves like the Viper's Bite, a spinning headlock elbow drop. Her ring attire typically features black and green, reflecting her Green Regime persona. She maintains a positive and humorous tone on social media, posting workout videos, behind-the-scenes content, and interactions with fans. She has been praised for breaking stereotypes about size in women's wrestling, demonstrating that larger competitors can be just as agile and technically skilled as smaller ones.[edit]

Piper Niven has cultivated a devoted following that spans the UK independent circuit and her current tenure in WWE, where she anchors The Green Regime with a blend of power and surprising agility. Her fanbase connects deeply with her authentic social media presence and her candid discussions regarding her career challenges. While she maintains a massive digital footprint with hundreds of thousands of followers across platforms like Instagram and X, her supporters have not coalesced around a single official moniker or organized global campaigns akin to those seen with other major stars. Instead, the community bonds over shared appreciation for her resilience, particularly following her serious neck surgery and cervical fusion in early 2026, which turned her recovery into a narrative of strength rather than just a medical update. Fans frequently quote her humorous remarks about her post-surgery condition, treating her personal updates as inside jokes that reinforce their connection to her life beyond the ring. Despite her significant popularity within the wrestling world and her status as a key figure in women's tag team competition, Piper Niven does not currently hold a placement in the published Global Top 1,000 rankings. According to iFANN's August 2026 evaluation, she is currently unranked in the Global Top 1,000 scope list, meaning no specific ordinal position or score is assigned at this time.[edit]

Born Kimberly Benson in Kilbirnie, Scotland, Piper Niven brings a unique background to the squared circle, having worked as a bartender and in a call center before her wrestling career took off. She earned a black belt in judo, a skill she occasionally weaves into her repertoire alongside her signature Viper's Bite move. Her original ring name, Viper, was chosen to reflect an aggressive style inspired by the snake, a persona she honed on the UK independent scene before joining WWE. A lifelong supporter of Glasgow Rangers Football Club, she often shares her passion for the team with her audience. Before becoming a mainstay on SmackDown, she competed in the Mae Young Classic under her Viper alias. Following her severe neck injury and subsequent cervical fusion surgery in early 2026, she became known for sharing starkly honest updates about her rehabilitation, including a memorable comment about her spine being straighter than her sexual preferences. This candidness during her six-week post-op check-up solidified her reputation for authenticity among fans, turning a medical setback into a defining chapter of her story.[edit]

Niven is private about her family. She has mentioned that her father was a key influence in introducing her to professional wrestling, but she has not publicly identified other family members. She has no known children and lives alone, though she often shares photos of her cats on social media.[edit]

Niven's most frequent collaborator is Chelsea Green, her tag team partner and close friend. She also worked with Eva Marie during her 2021 debut and previously teamed with Evie (Dakota Kai) and Kellie Skater in Stardom.[edit]

Piper Niven has not publicly discussed any romantic relationships. As of 2026, there are no confirmed reports of her dating, being engaged, or married. She has no known children. Her current status is single.[edit]

Per iFANN's editorial analysis, Piper Niven's estimated net worth stands at $1.5 Million as of 2026. Her primary income stream derives from her WWE contract, which places her earnings for mid-card talent between $250,000 and $500,000 annually when accounting for base salary, bonuses, and merchandise royalties. Additional revenue comes from appearances on the independent circuit and autograph signings. No significant business ventures, real estate holdings, or endorsement deals have been publicly reported. Her financial standing has grown steadily since signing with WWE in 2019.[edit]

Niven has won multiple championships across the UK and Japan, including the ICW Women's Championship (twice), the Artist of Stardom Championship, and the SWA World Championship. In WWE, she has held the 24/7 Championship twice and the Women's Tag Team Championship once.[edit]
