Pink Tape

Flooded The Face, the opening track of Pink Tape, was actually recorded back in 2017 during sessions for Luv Is Rage 2. It sat on a hard drive for six years before Uzi pulled it out for what would become their longest album yet. Released June 30, 2023 through Generation Now and Atlantic Records, the 26-track project runs 87 minutes and features production from an absurdly wide roster: Don Cannon, Arca, Bnyx, Oogie Mane, Cubeatz, WondaGurl, Bugz Ronin, Ken Carson, Bobby Raps, Rick Rubin, Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Wheezy, Charlie Handsome, and Bring Me the Horizon themselves.

Guest appearances are sparse but pointed. Travis Scott shows up on Aye, Nicki Minaj on Endless Fashion. The metal wing includes Bring Me the Horizon on Werewolf, Babymetal on The End, and Snow Strippers on Fire Alarm. On CS, Uzi interpolates System of a Down's Chop Suey! directly, giving writing credits to Tankian and Malakian. The singles Just Wanna Rock and Endless Fashion preceded the album, with the former turning into a viral hit driven by its Jersey club bounce.

Pink Tape debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, moving 167,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. That broke down to 11,000 pure sales and 154,000 streaming units. Critical reception was mixed but generally positive, with many praising the ambition and genre fusion while noting the runtime as a double-edged sword. A limited 2xCD edition hit about 90 U.S. record stores in early July 2023, adding three bonus tracks: Zoom, Of Course, and Shardai. The album earned a Gold certification from the RIAA in August 2024.
