Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time

Daisuke Hiyama's Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time is a Japanese fantasy manga that first appeared in Futabasha's Monthly Action magazine in August 2017. The series ran there until February 2024, then moved to the Web Action website, concluding in August 2024. Fifteen collected tankōbon volumes have been released. Seven Seas Entertainment handles the North American license.

The story follows Peter Grill, a warrior who wins a tournament to marry the strongest woman in the world. But his post-victory life is complicated by a parade of monster girls, demihumans, and other non-human women who all want a piece of him. What starts as a simple harem comedy quickly escalates into a raunchy, ecchi-filled adventure where Peter must navigate absurd situations and his own failing willpower. The manga blends fantasy tropes with over-the-top sexual humor.

An anime adaptation by Wolfsbane aired its first season from July to September 2020. A second season, co-produced by Wolfsbane and Seven, followed from October to December 2022. The series has found a niche audience among fans of ecchi comedy and harem anime, though its explicit content has also drawn criticism.
