Peter Gabriel is one of the most decorated artists in rock history, with eight Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, and the Polar Music Prize. His video for "Sledgehammer" won a record nine MTV Video Music Awards in a single year and remains the most played music video in MTV history. He is one of the few artists to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: once as a member of Genesis and once as a solo artist. In 2006, he received the Man of Peace award from Nobel Peace Prize laureates, and Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2008.
