Peng Shuai's place in tennis history is secure as the first Chinese player to reach the world No. 1 ranking in doubles. That milestone, achieved in February 2014, was a breakthrough for Chinese tennis and remains a singular achievement. Her two Grand Slam doubles titles with Hsieh Su-wei, at Wimbledon in 2013 and the French Open in 2014, demonstrated a partnership that combined power and finesse. In singles, her run to the 2014 US Open semifinal placed her among the best Chinese players ever.
